Welcome to this brief time set aside entirely for you. Find a comfortable position, sitting or lying down, and allow your body to settle into the present moment. Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze toward the floor.
Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of any tension you might be holding in your shoulders, jaw, or forehead.
Allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm. You do not need to control it or change it in any way. Simply observe the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Now, place one hand gently over your heart, or wherever on your body feels comforting to you. Feel the warm, light touch of your palm resting against your skin.
Notice the sensation of your heartbeat beneath your hand. This simple gesture of placing your hand on your heart is an act of warmth, care, and presence.
Take a moment to recognize that life can be difficult at times. We often carry silent struggles, harsh self-judgments, or feelings that we are somehow not enough. Allow whatever feelings are present right now to simply be here. You do not need to fix them or push them away.
Bring to mind a sense of soft acceptance for yourself, just as you are right now. Recognize that making mistakes and experiencing pain are shared human experiences. You are not alone in feeling this way.
Take a moment to send gentle warmth to the parts of yourself that feel tired, stressed, or unsure. You do not have to be perfect to be worthy of your own care and kindness.
Silently repeat these words to yourself, letting their meaning sink deep into your awareness:
May I be kind to myself in this moment.
May I give myself the compassion I need.
May I accept myself just as I am.
Feel the gentle resonance of these words in your chest, letting them soften any tightness or judgment you may be holding.
If your mind wanders or if you feel resistance, gently bring your focus back to the sensation of your breathing and the warm touch of your hand over your heart. Remind yourself that you deserve the same grace, patience, and tenderness that you so freely offer to others.
Rest in this space of quiet kindness for a few moments longer. Let the gentle warmth of acceptance surround you.
As we prepare to end this practice, take another deep breath in, filling your body with renewed gentleness and calm. Slowly exhale, releasing any remaining doubt.
When you are ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Bring your awareness back to the room around you, and slowly open your eyes, carrying this self-compassion with you into the rest of your day.
