Nurture kindness and acceptance toward yourself

Welcome to this moment of stillness. Allow your body to settle into a comfortable, supported position, either sitting upright or lying down. Gently close your eyes, or simply lower your gaze.
Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, letting your abdomen soften. As you exhale, release the tension held in your shoulders, your jaw, and between your eyebrows.
Bring your awareness to the natural rhythm of your breath. You do not need to alter it in any way. Simply observe the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Now, gently place one or both hands over the center of your chest, resting lightly on your heart. Feel the warmth of your palms against your clothes or your skin. Notice the subtle weight of your hands and the steady, comforting beat beneath them.
This gesture is an offering of care to yourself. You spend so much of your life meeting expectations and holding things together. In this space, there is nothing you need to accomplish. You are allowed to simply exist, exactly as you are.
Silently bring to mind any burdens, doubts, or self-criticisms you have been carrying lately. Acknowledge how hard you have been trying. Notice how these feelings resonate in your body, without judging them as good or bad.
Silently repeat these words to yourself, letting them sink deep into your awareness: May I be kind to myself in this moment. May I give myself the compassion I need. May I accept myself as a whole and worthy human being.
Feel the resonance of these words. If any resistance or sadness arises, meet it with tenderness, the way you would comfort a dear friend who is hurting. There is room here for everything you feel.
Imagine a warm, golden light radiating from your hands into your chest. With each breath, this light expands, soothing tired muscles, softening tight spaces, and filling you with quiet patience and gentle acceptance.
You are doing the best you can with the resources you have right now. You deserve the same unconditional kindness and patience that you so readily offer to others.
Rest in this field of self-compassion for a few quiet breaths.
Slowly lower your hands back to your lap or by your sides. Notice the sensation of grounding beneath you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes, bringing awareness back to the physical room around you.
Take one more nourishing breath, filling yourself with care.
When you feel ready, softly open your eyes, carrying this kindness with you into the rest of your day.
