Welcome to this body scan meditation. Find a comfortable position, either sitting upright or lying down, and allow your eyes to gently close.
Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. As you exhale, let go of any immediate stress and feel your body settle into the surface beneath you.
Bring your attention to the top of your head. Notice your forehead, your temples, and your jaw. Unclench your teeth and allow your facial muscles to completely soften.
Let that wave of relaxation travel down into your neck and shoulders. Shoulders often carry tight energy from the day. Allow them to drop down and away from your ears.
Feel your shoulders releasing any weight they have been holding.
Now, slide your awareness down through your arms, past your elbows, into your wrists, hands, and fingers. Feel a gentle warmth or tingling in your fingertips as your hands rest effortlessly.
Shift your focus to your chest and upper back. Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each breath. Allow your breathing to stay natural and effortless.
Move down into your stomach and abdomen. We often hold unconscious tension here. Let your belly soften fully. Allow it to expand gently on the inhale and contract softly on the exhale.
Spend a moment feeling the center of your body softening and breathing.
Now bring your awareness to your lower back and hips. Feel the contact points where your body rests against the ground or chair. Release any tightness stored in your pelvis and lower back.
Let this heavy, relaxing feeling flow down into your legs. Notice your thighs, your knees, and your calves. Allow these large muscles to completely let go.
Finally, move your attention into your feet and toes. Feel the soles of your feet relaxing, releasing any remaining tightness into the ground.
Expand your awareness now to include your entire body, from the crown of your head to the tips of your toes. Feel yourself fully grounded, present, and calm.
Take a deep breath in, gathering full-body awareness, and exhale softly, letting go of any final tension.
When you feel ready, gently wiggle your fingers and toes, bring your awareness back to the room around you, and open your eyes.
