Welcome to this guided body scan meditation. Take a moment to settle into a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, whatever feels best for you right now. Allow your eyes to gently close, and let your hands rest easily. Take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs entirely. Exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of your day.
Bring your awareness to your body resting against the surface beneath you. Feel the support of the chair, floor, or bed. You are fully held.
Shift your focus to the very bottom of your feet. Notice any tingling, warmth, or coolness. There is no need to change anything, simply observe what is already there. Allow your awareness to glide up through your ankles and into your calves. Imagine your breath flowing into any tension, dissolving tightness as you exhale.
Continue upward into your knees and thighs. Let the heavy muscles of your legs sink deeper. Release any gripping. Your legs can completely let go now.
Bring your awareness to your hips and pelvis, an area where we often carry stress. Imagine a soothing light filling your hips, creating a sense of spaciousness.
Draw your attention to your abdomen and lower back. Notice the natural rise and fall of your belly. You do not need to force your breathing. Just watch the gentle rhythm of your body, like waves arriving and retreating on a quiet shore. With every exhalation, allow your back to melt further into the surface beneath you.
Move your focus to your chest and upper back. Let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Invite the muscles of your upper back to loosen and release.
Let your awareness spill down both arms, flowing past your elbows and wrists, resting in the palms of your hands. Let your arms be entirely heavy and relaxed.
Guide your attention up into your neck and throat. Swallow gently. Allow the muscles on the back of your neck to lengthen and soften.
Bring your awareness to your face. Release the tension in your jaw. Let your tongue fall away from the roof of your mouth. Soften the tiny muscles around your eyes, and smooth out your forehead. Your face is quiet and at peace.
Take a moment to feel your body as one resting whole. From the crown of your head to your toes, you are relaxed, grounded, and present.
If a thought drifts into your mind, simply let it pass like a cloud, returning your focus to the quiet weight of your body.
Begin to deepen your breath. Notice the renewed energy entering your lungs.
Slowly invite small movements back into your physical form. Gently wiggle your fingers and your toes.
When you feel ready, softly open your eyes. Take this sense of deep release and grounded connection with you into the rest of your day.
