Begin by finding a comfortable position. Allow your eyes to close gently, or soften your gaze on a single point in the room. Take a deep, slow breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. Now exhale slowly through your mouth, letting go of the day so far.

Take one more deep breath in, gathering any racing thoughts or surface tension. As you exhale, imagine sweeping them away, creating space for this moment of peace.

Bring your awareness to the very top of your head. Notice any sensations here, whether it is warmth, coolness, or simply a gentle pulsing. Allow the tiny muscles across your scalp to soften. Let this wave of relaxation flow down into your forehead. Release the furrow between your eyebrows. Unclench your jaw and let your tongue rest gently behind your upper teeth.

Follow this softness down into your neck. Your neck works hard all day to support you. Give it permission to release its grip. Let the relaxation spill out across your shoulders. Imagine your shoulders dropping away from your ears, melting down toward the earth, heavy and completely at ease.

Feel this comforting weight travel down both of your arms. It flows through your upper arms, past your elbows, down into your wrists, and finally rests in the palms of your hands. Let your fingers curl naturally, completely free of effort.

Now guide your attention to your chest and upper back. With every natural breath you take, feel your ribcage gently expand and contract. There is no need to force the breath. Just observe its quiet rhythm. As you breathe out, allow any tightness in your chest or mid back to dissolve into the air around you.

Let your awareness drift down into your belly. Allow your abdomen to be soft and round. Let go of the need to pull it in or hold it tight.

Move your focus into your hips and pelvis. Feel the solid surface beneath you supporting your weight. You are completely held. You do not need to hold yourself up right now. Sink deeper into that support.

Notice your thighs, heavy and relaxed. Let the wave of peace travel down through your knees, into your calves, and through your ankles.

Finally, feel the relaxation enter your feet, flowing all the way to the tips of your toes. Your entire body is now resting, connected, and completely at ease.

Scan your body one last time from head to toe. If you find any remaining pockets of tension, simply breathe into them, and let them wash away on the exhale.

You are deeply connected to your physical self. You are safe. You are relaxed.

Slowly begin to deepen your breath. Wiggle your fingers and your toes, inviting movement back into your physical form.

When you feel completely ready, gently open your eyes, taking this sense of calm with you into the rest of your day.
