Begin by finding a comfortable position. Allow your body to settle into the space you are in right now. Close your eyes gently if that feels safe to do.

Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs entirely.

Exhale softly through your mouth, letting go of any immediate tension.

Allow your breathing to return to its natural rhythm. You do not need to change or control your breath. Simply notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.

As you sit here, bring your awareness to your physical body. Notice the points of contact between you and the surface supporting you. Feel the gravity holding you securely. Notice any areas of tension in your shoulders, your jaw, or your neck. Soften these areas intentionally, offering them permission to relax. Treat your body with the same patience you would offer a tired child.

You may be carrying stress, judgment, or heavy expectations today. Acknowledge these feelings without trying to push them away. They are a normal part of being human. Perhaps you can remind yourself that suffering and difficulty are shared human experiences. You are not alone in your struggles. We all have moments of doubt and pain.

Gently place one or both hands over your heart, or anywhere that feels comforting to you. Feel the gentle pressure and warmth of your own touch.

This simple gesture is a signal of care. It tells your nervous system that you are safe, and that you are here for yourself.

Now, offer yourself the same kindness you would offer a dear friend who was struggling. You might silently say to yourself, may I be kind to myself in this moment.

May I accept myself just as I am.

May I forgive myself for not being perfect.

Notice how your mind and body respond to these words. If resistance arises, that is completely okay. Simply wrap that resistance in a layer of gentle understanding. You do not have to force any feelings of love. You are just planting seeds of compassion. Allow yourself to feel whatever is present right now. If there is joy, welcome it. If there is sorrow, welcome it. Give yourself the space to be exactly as you are, without any need to fix or change anything.

Breathe into the space around your heart. Imagine your breath carrying warmth and a soft, soothing light into your chest. With every inhale, you draw in comfort. With every exhale, you release harshness and self criticism.

You are worthy of the care you give so freely to others. Take a moment to rest in this space of quiet acceptance.

As we draw this practice to a close, take one more deep and nourishing breath. When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes, taking this feeling of gentle kindness with you into the rest of your day.
