Begin by finding a comfortable posture. Allow your body to settle into the space around you. Close your eyes gently, or simply lower your gaze to the floor. Let your hands rest easily in your lap.

Take a deep, full breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely. And exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any immediate tension.

Let your breathing return to its natural rhythm. You do not need to force or change your breath in any way. Just allow it to flow naturally, exactly as it is right now.

Bring your full attention to the physical sensation of breathing. Notice where you feel the breath most clearly in your body. It might be the cool air passing through your nostrils. It could be the gentle rise and fall of your chest. Or perhaps you feel it most in the expansion and relaxation of your belly.

Wherever that sensation is most vivid, let your mind rest there. This physical feeling of the breath is your anchor to the present moment.

Follow a single breath from its very beginning to its very end. Notice the slight pause at the top of your inhalation, just before the breath turns around. And notice the brief moment of stillness at the bottom of your exhalation, before the next breath begins.

As you observe these natural pauses, allow your mind to become just as still. Thoughts will inevitably arise. Your mind will wander to the past or the future. This is completely natural. When you notice your attention has drifted, simply acknowledge the thought without judgment. Then, gently guide your focus back to the physical sensation of your next breath.

Each time you return to the breath, you are strengthening your ability to be present. You are choosing to be here, right now, in this exact moment.

Feel the steady rhythm of your breathing. It is a constant, grounding force within you. Inhale, knowing you are inhaling. Exhale, knowing you are exhaling.

Let go of any effort to do this perfectly. There is no right or wrong way to observe your breath. There is only your willingness to keep coming back.

Rest here for a few more moments, bathed in the simple awareness of your own life force.

Notice the air moving in. Notice the air moving out.

As we prepare to bring this practice to a close, slowly expand your awareness outward. Feel the weight of your body resting on the surface beneath you. Notice the temperature of the air on your skin.

Listen for any sounds in the room around you.

Take one more deep, conscious breath in, bringing fresh energy into your body. And release it fully. When you feel ready, softly open your eyes, taking this calm presence with you into the rest of your day.
