Welcome to this practice of breath awareness. Begin by finding a comfortable posture. You might sit up straight or lie down flat. Allow your hands to rest gently by your sides. When you feel ready, softly close your eyes or lower your gaze.

Take a deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs completely with fresh air. And gently release it out through your mouth, letting go of any tension.

Let your breathing return to its natural, unforced rhythm. You do not need to change or control your breath in any way. Just allow your body to breathe exactly as it wants to.

Bring your attention to the physical sensations of your body resting in this quiet space. Notice the heavy points of contact between your body and the surface beneath you. You feel the steady support holding you up, allowing your muscles to soften.

Now, gently gather your attention and bring it to the flow of your breath. Notice where you feel the breath most clearly. It might be the cool air passing through your nostrils, the rise of your chest, or the expansion of your belly.

Wherever the sensation is strongest, let your mind rest right there. Anchor your awareness to this simple, physical experience of breathing in and breathing out.

As you observe your breath, you notice the subtle details of the cycle. You feel the beginning of the breath, the slight pause at the top, and the quiet release of the exhale.

Follow the complete cycle of one single breath from start to finish.

If your mind begins to wander away, know that this is completely normal. Minds are designed to think. When you notice you have drifted into thoughts, simply acknowledge where your mind went without any judgment or criticism.

Then, gently but firmly, guide your attention back to the physical sensation of your breath. Return to the rhythmic rise and fall, using the breath as your steady anchor.

Breathe in, knowing you are breathing in. Breathe out, knowing you are breathing out. Rest deeply in the simplicity of this moment, letting the breath wash away any lingering stress.

Every time you return to your breath, you are strengthening your ability to remain present. You are cultivating a deep peace you can access at any time.

As we draw this practice to a close, slowly expand your awareness back to your entire physical body. Feel your presence in the room. Notice the air on your skin and the sounds around you.

Take one more deep, intentional breath in, filling yourself with fresh energy. And let it go gently.

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, bringing this calm and steady awareness with you into the rest of your day.
