Welcome to your morning mindfulness practice.
Find a comfortable position. You can be sitting in a chair, or perhaps on a cushion on the floor.
Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze.
Bring your awareness to your breath.
Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest.
Feel the air as it enters your nostrils, and as it leaves.
There's no need to change your breath in any way. Simply observe.
Allow yourself to arrive fully in this present moment.
Let go of any thoughts about yesterday, or worries about tomorrow.
For these next few minutes, your only task is to be here, now.
Imagine yourself at the beginning of a new day.
A fresh start.
Feel the stillness before the world begins to stir.
Bring your attention back to your breath.
Inhaling… and exhaling.
With each inhale, you are bringing in calm and presence.
With each exhale, you are releasing any tension or busyness.
Notice the sensations in your body.
Perhaps you feel the weight of your body supported by the chair or floor.
Feel your feet on the ground.
Feel your hands resting gently.
As you continue to breathe, invite a sense of gentle awareness to spread throughout your entire body.
From the tips of your toes, all the way up to the crown of your head.
Simply notice what is present, without judgment.
Now, imagine a soft, warm light beginning to fill the space around you.
This light represents clarity and new beginnings.
As you inhale, imagine drawing this light into your body.
Feel it infusing every cell with peaceful energy.
With each exhale, release any remaining shadows or lingering doubts from the past.
Let them drift away like clouds in the morning sky.
You are here, present and ready for this new day.
Bring your awareness back to your breath one more time.
Inhaling calm, exhaling gently.
Feel yourself grounded and centered.
As we prepare to conclude this meditation, know that this sense of presence is always available to you.
You can return to your breath anytime you need to reconnect.
When you are ready, gently begin to wiggle your fingers and toes.
Slowly bring yourself back into the room.
And when you feel ready, open your eyes, carrying this feeling of clarity and peace with you as you begin your day.
