Welcome. Find a comfortable position. You can be seated in a chair with your feet flat on the floor, or sitting cross-legged on a cushion. Or you can lie down. Wherever you are, allow your body to settle. Close your eyes gently, or soften your gaze.

Begin by noticing your breath. You don't need to change it in any way. Just observe the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale. Feel the air entering your nostrils, filling your lungs, and then gently leaving your body.

As you breathe, allow your shoulders to relax. Let go of any tension you may be holding in your jaw. Soften your forehead.

Now, gently bring your awareness to the feeling of gratitude. What is gratitude? It is a deep sense of appreciation for what you have, for the good things in your life, both big and small.

Let's begin by bringing to mind something simple that you are grateful for. Perhaps it is the warmth of the sun on your skin, or the taste of a favorite food. It could be the comfort of your home, or the softness of your bed.

Choose one simple thing and allow yourself to feel thankful for it. Really immerse yourself in that feeling of appreciation. Notice how it feels in your body. Perhaps a warmth in your chest, or a gentle lightness.

Now, expand your awareness. Think about the people in your life. Who are the individuals that bring you joy, support, or simply a sense of connection? It could be a family member, a dear friend, a colleague, or even a stranger who offered a kind word.

Bring one person to mind. Visualize their face, or simply hold their presence in your heart. Feel gratitude for their existence, for their impact on your life. Acknowledge the unique gift they represent.

Allow that feeling of gratitude to deepen. Notice if it creates a sense of peace, or contentment within you. There is no right or wrong way to feel. Simply be present with whatever arises.

Now, let’s consider the gifts of nature. The vast sky above, the solid ground beneath you. The trees, the water, the air we breathe. These are fundamental elements of our existence, freely given.

Take a moment to feel thankful for the beauty that surrounds you, even in the most ordinary of places. The intricate pattern of a leaf, the vibrant color of a flower. The sound of birdsong, or the gentle rustling of leaves.

Bring to mind a skill or an ability you possess. Something you are good at, or something that allows you to experience the world more fully. Perhaps it is the ability to listen, to create, to learn, or to move your body.

Feel a sense of appreciation for this inner resource. It is a part of you, a tool that enriches your life and allows you to engage with the world.

Finally, let yourself feel gratitude for the present moment. This very breath, this very instant. It is all you truly have. In this moment, you are alive, you are breathing, you are here.

Allow a wave of gratitude to wash over you, encompassing all these elements. The simple things, the people, the natural world, your own unique gifts, and this precious present moment. Feel it settle within you, like a warm, comforting blanket.

Carry this feeling of gratitude with you as you gently return your awareness to your surroundings. Wiggle your fingers and your toes. Take a deeper breath. And when you are ready, slowly open your eyes.
