Welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting upright or lying down. Allow your body to settle, to release any tension it may be holding. Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze if that feels more comfortable.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath. You don't need to change it in any way. Simply notice it. Notice the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.
Feel the air as it enters your nostrils. Perhaps it feels cool, or maybe it's neutral. Just observe. And feel the air as it leaves your body. Perhaps it feels warmer, or again, neutral. There is no right or wrong way to experience your breath.
Bring your attention to the rise and fall of your chest or your abdomen. Whichever sensation is most prominent for you. Feel the gentle expansion as you inhale, and the soft release as you exhale.
Allow your breath to be your anchor. In this moment, nothing else matters but the simple act of breathing. Every inhale is a new moment, every exhale is a letting go.
You might notice thoughts drifting in. This is perfectly natural. Our minds are designed to think. When you notice a thought, simply acknowledge it without judgment. Imagine it like a cloud passing across the sky. You see it, and then you let it drift away.
Gently guide your awareness back to the sensation of your breath. Back to the simple, steady rhythm. Inhale. And exhale.
Feel the breath as it enters your lungs, filling you with life. And feel it as it leaves, carrying away any tension or busyness.
Notice the subtle pauses between the inhale and the exhale. These moments of stillness are always present, offering a natural pause in the flow of life.
Continue to breathe, allowing each inhale to be a fresh start, and each exhale to be a release. Let go of any expectations or desires. Just be present with what is.
Feel the support of the surface beneath you, holding you. You are safe, you are supported.
There is nowhere else you need to be, nothing else you need to do, right now. Only this breath. Only this moment.
As you continue to breathe, allow a sense of calm to spread through your body. A gentle wave of relaxation.
Inhale peace. Exhale any worries. Inhale ease. Exhale any tension.
Your breath is a constant companion, always available to ground you in the present. Simply return to it whenever you feel yourself drifting.
Feel the gentle movement of your body with each breath. The subtle undulation of your being.
Bring your awareness back to the space around you. The sounds you can hear. The temperature of the air on your skin.
Gently begin to wiggle your fingers and your toes. Bringing a soft awareness back into your body.
When you are ready, slowly and gently open your eyes. Carry this sense of present moment awareness with you as you move forward into your day.
