Welcome to this guided meditation for body awareness and tension release. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down, whatever feels most supportive for you right now. Allow your body to settle.

Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze, allowing your awareness to turn inward.

Take a deep breath in, filling your lungs, and as you exhale, let go of any immediate distractions.

Begin by simply noticing your breath. Not trying to change it in any way, just observing the natural rhythm. Feel the air entering your nostrils, the rise and fall of your chest, the gentle expansion of your belly.

Now, bring your attention to your feet. Notice the sensations present in your toes, the soles of your feet, your heels, and your ankles. Are there any areas of warmth, coolness, tingling, or perhaps pressure? Simply acknowledge whatever you find, without judgment.

Gently, slowly, move your awareness up your legs. Feel your calves, your shins, your knees. Notice any tightness or openness. Imagine a wave of relaxation flowing down from your hips, washing over your legs and out through your feet.

Now, bring your attention to your hips and your pelvis. This is an area where we often hold a great deal of tension. See if you can soften and release any gripping you might be experiencing here. Allow your hips to feel heavy and supported.

Move your awareness up into your torso. Feel your lower back, your mid-back, and your upper back. Notice the gentle movement of your breath in your ribcage. Are there any areas of discomfort or ease? Just observe.

Bring your attention to your abdomen. Feel the gentle ebb and flow of your breath here. Allow your belly to be soft and relaxed. Imagine any tension melting away with each exhale.

Now, bring your awareness to your chest. Feel the gentle expansion and contraction with each breath. Notice your heart beating within your chest, a steady rhythm of life.

Move your attention to your shoulders. This is another common area for holding stress. See if you can allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears. Imagine any burdens you are carrying being gently lifted and released.

Bring your awareness down your arms. Feel your upper arms, your elbows, your forearms, your wrists, and your hands. Notice the sensations in your fingers and palms.

Now, bring your attention to your neck and your throat. Soften this area. Allow your head to feel comfortably balanced.

Finally, bring your awareness to your head and your face. Feel your jaw, your cheeks, your eyes, your forehead, and the crown of your head. Allow all the muscles in your face to relax. Let go of any holding.

Take a moment to notice your entire body as a whole. Feel the sense of presence you have cultivated. You are here, in this moment, in your body.

Gently begin to deepen your breath. Wiggle your fingers and your toes. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, bringing this sense of calm and awareness with you into the rest of your day.
