Welcome. Find a comfortable position. You can be seated with your feet flat on the floor, or lying down. Allow your body to settle, to soften. Close your eyes gently, or soften your gaze.

Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath. Notice the natural rhythm of your inhales and exhales. There’s no need to change anything. Just observe. Feel the air entering your body, and then leaving.

Feel the rise and fall of your chest or abdomen with each breath. This is your anchor. A gentle, constant presence in this moment.

Now, bring your attention to your body. Scan from the top of your head all the way down to your toes. Notice any areas of tension, any discomfort. Without judgment, simply acknowledge what you find.

If you notice tension in your shoulders, imagine your breath flowing into that space, softening and releasing it. If you notice discomfort in your jaw, consciously unclench it. Let your facial muscles relax.

We often hold so much within our bodies. This is a moment to offer yourself a gentle kindness. A quiet acknowledgment of your physical experience.

Now, bring to mind a situation that has been difficult for you recently. Something that has caused you stress, or sadness, or perhaps frustration. It doesn't need to be a huge event, just something that has weighed on you.

As you hold this situation in your mind, notice any feelings that arise. Are you feeling self-critical? Are you judging yourself for how you handled things, or for how you are feeling?

It’s natural to feel this way. We are all human. We all experience moments of struggle, of imperfection. This is a shared human experience.

Now, imagine you are speaking to a dear friend who is going through the same situation. What words of kindness and understanding would you offer them? What gentle reassurances would you share?

Try to turn those same words inward, towards yourself. Offer yourself the same compassion you would naturally extend to another. You might repeat these phrases silently to yourself: "May I be kind to myself." "May I accept myself as I am." "This is a moment of suffering, and suffering is a part of life."

Allow these phrases to wash over you. Let them soften any harsh inner critic. You are doing the best you can, in this moment, with the resources you have.

Recognize that your feelings are valid. It is okay to feel what you are feeling. There is no right or wrong way to experience a difficult situation.

Bring your awareness back to your breath. Feel its gentle rhythm, its grounding presence. Inhale kindness, exhale judgment. Inhale acceptance, exhale criticism.

You are worthy of love and understanding, especially from yourself. This moment of self-compassion is a gift you are giving yourself.

Begin to gently deepen your breath. Wiggle your fingers and toes. Feel the support of the surface beneath you.

When you are ready, slowly open your eyes. Carry this feeling of gentle kindness with you as you move back into your day.
