Welcome. Find a comfortable position. You can be seated, or lying down. Allow your body to settle into this space. Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze.
Take a moment to arrive. To bring your awareness into this present moment. Let go of any thoughts of the past, or worries about the future. For now, there is only this.
Begin by simply noticing your breath. You don't need to change it in any way. Just observe. Feel the gentle rhythm of your inhale, and the steady release of your exhale.
Notice where you feel your breath most prominently. Perhaps it's in the rise and fall of your chest. Or the subtle expansion of your abdomen. Or maybe it's the cool air entering your nostrils, and the warmer air leaving. Wherever you notice it, simply acknowledge it.
Feel the sensation of the inhale. The gentle drawing in of air. And as you exhale, feel the release. The letting go.
Inhale. Exhale.
There's no right or wrong way to breathe. Your breath is always here, a constant anchor. A reminder of the present moment.
If your mind begins to wander, and it will, that's perfectly okay. It's the nature of the mind. Gently, without judgment, guide your attention back to the sensation of your breath. Like a gentle shepherd guiding a flock back to the pasture.
Imagine each inhale as a wave of calm energy washing over you. And each exhale as a wave of tension or busyness receding from you.
Inhale. Calm. Exhale. Release.
Feel the subtle movements within your body as you breathe. The slight expansion of your rib cage, the gentle sway of your diaphragm. These are signs of life. Signs of being here, now.
Continue to follow the path of your breath. From the tip of your nostrils, down into your lungs, and then the release back out. Every breath is a new beginning. A fresh opportunity to be present.
Allow yourself to simply be with your breath. No striving, no forcing. Just a gentle observation. A quiet surrender to the rhythm of your own body.
Feel the breath as it enters your body. Notice its temperature, its depth. And as you exhale, feel the release, the softening.
Breathing in. Breathing out.
Allow your shoulders to relax. Let your jaw soften. Release any tension you might be holding in your forehead or your hands.
Your breath is a constant companion. Always available. Always guiding you back to the now.
As we begin to prepare to bring this meditation to a close, bring a sense of gratitude for this moment of stillness. For this time dedicated to yourself and your well-being.
Gently bring your awareness back to the room. Wiggle your fingers and toes. When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes. Carry this sense of presence with you into the rest of your day.
