Welcome to this moment of gratitude.
Find a comfortable position.
Allow your body to settle.
Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath.
Notice the gentle rhythm of your inhalation, and the soft release of your exhalation.
There is no need to change your breath, simply observe it.
Feel the air entering your nostrils, cool and refreshing.
And feel it leaving, carrying away any tension.
Allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears.
Relax your jaw.
Let your belly be soft.
Now, I invite you to bring to mind something, anything, for which you feel a sense of gratitude.
It could be something grand, or something small.
Perhaps it's the warmth of the sun on your skin.
Or the comfort of your home.
Maybe it's a person in your life, a friend or family member, who brings you joy.
Picture this person in your mind's eye.
Feel the warmth of their presence.
Recall a moment you shared, a laugh, a kind word.
Allow that feeling of appreciation to fill you.
Or perhaps your gratitude is for a simple pleasure.
The taste of your favorite food.
The beauty of nature you witnessed today.
The sound of music that lifts your spirits.
Focus on this one thing.
Allow it to expand within you.
Feel the gentle swell of contentment that gratitude brings.
If your mind wanders, that's perfectly natural.
Gently guide your attention back to this feeling of appreciation.
Bring to mind another thing for which you are grateful.
Maybe it's something you have learned, a skill you have acquired.
Or a challenge you have overcome, a testament to your strength.
Acknowledge the journey.
Feel the gratitude for your resilience.
Now, let that feeling permeate your entire being.
Allow gratitude to soften any hardness you may be holding.
It is a gentle, yet powerful emotion.
You are cultivating a garden of appreciation within yourself.
Watering it with each breath, each mindful moment.
As you continue to breathe, hold these feelings of gratitude.
Know that you can return to this feeling anytime you wish.
Carry this sense of contentment with you.
When you are ready, gently bring your awareness back to your breath.
And to the room around you.
Wiggle your fingers and toes.
And when you are ready, slowly open your eyes.
