Welcome. Find a comfortable position. You can be sitting in a chair with your feet flat on the floor, or perhaps lying down. Allow your body to settle into this space.
Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze. Bring your attention inward now.
Begin by noticing your breath. You don't need to change it in any way. Just observe the natural rhythm of your inhales and exhales.
Feel the air entering your nostrils, cool and refreshing. And feel it leaving your body, warm and carrying away tension.
With each inhale, imagine you are drawing in a sense of calm, a peaceful energy. And with each exhale, release anything that no longer serves you. Release the worries of the day, the pressures, the to-do lists.
Allow your shoulders to relax. Let go of any tightness held in your neck or jaw. Your body is beginning to soften, to unwind.
Now, bring your awareness to your chest. Feel the gentle rise and fall with each breath. Imagine that with every exhale, you are releasing a little more of the stress you’ve been carrying.
Picture the stress as a heavy cloak. With each breath out, you are letting that cloak slip from your shoulders. It’s becoming lighter and lighter.
Focus on your abdomen. Feel it expand slightly as you inhale, and gently contract as you exhale. This is your core, your center of stability. Ground yourself in this sensation.
Now, let’s gently bring our attention to any thoughts that might be present. See them like clouds drifting across a vast blue sky. You are the sky, spacious and accepting. The thoughts are temporary.
You don’t need to engage with them, or judge them. Simply acknowledge their presence and let them pass by. They are not you. You are the observer, calm and detached.
Imagine the worries of your day dissolving. See them turning into wisps of smoke that dissipate into the air. They are fading away.
Feel a sense of spaciousness opening up within you. This is your natural state, a place of peace and clarity.
Bring your awareness back to your breath, that constant anchor in the present moment. Feel the steady rhythm, the gentle flow.
With each inhale, you are filling yourself with light and calm. With each exhale, you are releasing any remaining traces of stress.
Allow this feeling of deep relaxation to permeate your entire being. From the crown of your head to the tips of your toes.
Know that this calm is always available to you. You can return to this feeling of peace whenever you need to, simply by focusing on your breath.
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room. Wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you are ready, slowly open your eyes, bringing this sense of peace and calm back with you into your day.
