Welcome. Find a comfortable position. Sit or lie down, whatever feels most supportive for you right now. Allow your body to settle into this space.
Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze downwards. Begin to notice your breath. You don't need to change it in any way, just observe it as it is. Feel the gentle rise and fall of your chest or abdomen with each inhale and exhale.
Your breath is your anchor, a constant presence that can bring you back to this moment. Allow the rhythm of your breath to begin to soothe and calm your nervous system. Inhaling… and exhaling.
Now, bring your awareness to any tension you might be holding in your body. Start at the top of your head. Notice any tightness in your scalp or forehead.
With each exhale, imagine that tension softening, melting away.
Move your awareness down to your eyes. Are they feeling strained? Let them rest, heavy and relaxed.
Your jaw. Is it clenched? Gently allow your jaw to hang loose. Release any tightness in your jaw muscles.
Now, your neck and shoulders. This is a common place for stress to accumulate. Feel any knots or stiffness. With your next exhale, breathe into that area and imagine it softening, loosening.
Let your shoulders drop away from your ears. Feel the weight of the day begin to lift from your shoulders.
Continue down your arms, to your elbows, your wrists, and your hands. Allow your hands to become soft and relaxed, perhaps resting on your lap or by your sides.
Now, bring your attention to your chest and your upper back. Notice any constriction. Breathe deeply into your chest, expanding it with each inhale, and releasing any tightness with each exhale.
Move your awareness to your abdomen. Feel the gentle rise and fall. Allow your belly to be soft.
Your lower back. Often carrying the weight of our burdens. Imagine your lower back softening and releasing.
Now, your hips. Feel them grounded and supported. Let go of any tension held here.
Your legs. Your thighs, your knees, your calves, your ankles, and your feet. Allow your legs to feel heavy and relaxed, deeply connected to the surface beneath you.
Feel your entire body now, from the tips of your toes to the crown of your head, settling into a state of relaxation. If thoughts arise, simply notice them without judgment, and gently guide your attention back to your breath.
Imagine a warm, gentle light washing over you. This light is a symbol of peace, calm, and release. With each inhale, you draw in more of this soothing light. With each exhale, you release any remaining stress, worry, or tension from your day.
Inhaling peace, exhaling stress. Inhaling calm, exhaling worry. Feel the lightness that begins to emerge as you let go.
You are safe. You are supported. You are in this moment, and this moment is peaceful. Continue to breathe, allowing the relaxation to deepen with each passing second.
When you are ready, begin to gently wiggle your fingers and toes. Slowly bring your awareness back to the room. Take a deeper breath in, and as you exhale, gently open your eyes. Carry this sense of peace with you.
