Welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. Allow your eyes to gently close.
Take a moment to settle into your space. Notice the support beneath you, holding you.
Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath. Noticing the inhale... and the exhale.
There's no need to change your breath, simply observe it. Feeling the gentle rise and fall of your chest... or your abdomen.
Now, we'll begin a gentle scan of your body, moving our attention from head to toe. Bring your awareness to the very top of your head.
Notice any sensations present in your scalp... your forehead. Is there any tightness? Any softness? Simply observe.
Allow your awareness to drift down to your eyes. Noticing the muscles around your eyes. Can you soften them? Letting go of any held tension.
Move your attention to your jaw. Often we hold a lot of tension here. See if you can gently release your jaw. Perhaps letting your teeth part slightly.
Feel the sensation in your neck and shoulders. This is another common area for stored tension. Imagine your shoulders softening, dropping away from your ears.
Allow this wave of relaxation to flow down your arms, through your elbows, and into your forearms.
Bring your awareness to your hands. Notice the palms of your hands... the backs of your hands... your fingers and thumbs. Feel any tingling or warmth.
Now, bring your attention to your chest. Notice the gentle movement with each breath. Feel your heart beating within your chest.
Move your awareness to your abdomen. Feel the gentle expansion and contraction as you breathe. Allow your belly to be soft.
Shift your attention to your back. Notice your upper back, middle back, and lower back. See if you can soften any areas of tightness.
Bring your awareness to your hips. Feel the weight of your body being supported.
Allow your attention to travel down your legs. Through your thighs... your knees... your shins and calves.
Now, bring your awareness to your feet. Notice your ankles... the soles of your feet... the tops of your feet... your toes. Feel the connection to the ground.
Take a moment to simply be present with your entire body. Acknowledging all the sensations, or lack of sensations, that are here right now. You are doing perfectly.
With each exhale, imagine releasing any remaining tension you might be holding onto. Inhaling peace... exhaling tension.
Inhaling calm... exhaling stress.
As we begin to close this meditation, gently deepen your breath. Wiggle your fingers and toes.
When you feel ready, slowly flutter your eyes open, bringing this sense of calm and awareness back into your day.
