Welcome. Welcome to this guided meditation for sleep.

Find a comfortable position in your bed. Allow your body to sink into the support beneath you. Soften your shoulders, release any tension you might be holding in your jaw. Your eyes can be gently closed, or softly gazing downward.

We are beginning to transition from your day into a restful night’s sleep. There is nothing you need to do right now, nothing you need to think about, except for being present in this moment.

Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest, the subtle movement of your abdomen. You don't need to change your breath in any way. Simply observe it, like a quiet observer watching waves on a calm shore.

Feel the air entering your nostrils, cool and refreshing. And feel it leaving, warm and comforting. Each inhale is a moment of receiving, and each exhale is a moment of letting go.

As you continue to breathe, allow your attention to drift to your body. Notice any sensations present. Perhaps you feel the weight of your body, the texture of your bedding. Simply acknowledge these sensations without judgment.

Let’s begin to soften each part of your body, moving from your toes all the way up to the crown of your head. Imagine a wave of relaxation beginning at your feet. Feel your toes relax, your arches soften, your heels become heavy.

Allow this wave of relaxation to move up into your ankles and your calves. Feel any tightness dissolving, melting away with each exhale. Your lower legs are becoming heavy, comfortable, and deeply relaxed.

Now, bring this gentle wave of relaxation into your knees and your thighs. Feel the muscles softening, releasing any stored tension. Your legs are becoming like pillars of pure relaxation, supported and at ease.

Continue this softening sensation into your hips and your pelvic area. Let go of any clenching or holding. Allow this area to become completely loose and relaxed.

Move your awareness to your abdomen and your lower back. Feel the gentle rhythm of your breath here. Allow your belly to be soft, unfurling with each inhale. Release any tension in your lower back, letting it sink into the comfort of your mattress.

Now, bring your attention to your chest and your upper back. Feel your heart beating gently. Allow your shoulders to drop even further away from your ears. Feel the space between your shoulder blades softening.

Let this wave of relaxation flow down your arms, through your elbows, into your forearms. Feel your wrists and your hands becoming heavy and limp. Your fingers are relaxed, resting gently.

Now, bring your awareness to your neck and your throat. Release any tightness. Allow your neck to feel long and supported. Soften your jaw, letting your teeth part slightly. Relax your tongue.

Allow this deep relaxation to spread into your face. Soften the muscles around your eyes, your forehead, your temples. Feel your entire face becoming smooth and serene.

Finally, bring this feeling of deep peace and relaxation to the crown of your head. Imagine a soft light settling there, bringing a sense of calm and completeness.

You are now deeply relaxed, from the tips of your toes to the crown of your head. Your body is heavy, comfortable, and at peace. Allow yourself to simply be here, in this state of gentle surrender.

As you rest, you are drifting, gently and peacefully, into a deep and restorative sleep. Let go of all effort. Allow the darkness to cradle you, the silence to embrace you.

Each breath you take is guiding you deeper into slumber. Each moment is an invitation to rest. You are safe, you are cared for, and you are ready to sleep.

Sleep well.
