Welcome to this guided meditation for cultivating loving kindness. Find a comfortable position. Allow your body to settle, to release any tension you may be holding.

Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze.

Begin by bringing your awareness to your breath. Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest, the subtle expansion and contraction of your abdomen. There's no need to change your breath, simply observe it. Feel the air entering your nostrils, cool and fresh. Feel it leaving, warm and comforting.

Allow your breath to anchor you in this present moment. As you breathe in, imagine you are drawing in peace. As you breathe out, imagine you are releasing any worries or distractions. Inhaling peace, exhaling distraction.

Now, bring to mind someone you care deeply about. This could be a friend, a family member, or even a beloved pet. Picture them clearly in your mind's eye. See their face, hear their voice. Feel the warmth that arises in your heart as you think of them.

With this feeling of warmth and affection, silently offer them these words: May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you live with ease.

Repeat these phrases to yourself, letting the intention behind them resonate within you. May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you live with ease.

Now, bring yourself to mind. This can be a challenge for some, so be gentle with yourself. If it feels difficult, simply focus on the feeling of your breath. If you can, bring your own image to mind. Acknowledge your own presence, your own being.

And with the same warmth you offered to another, extend these wishes to yourself: May I be happy. May I be healthy. May I be safe. May I live with ease.

Again, silently repeat these phrases. May I be happy. May I be healthy. May I be safe. May I live with ease. Allow these words to sink into your heart, to nourish your spirit.

Now, imagine a neutral acquaintance. Someone you see from time to time, but don't have a strong connection with. Perhaps a cashier at the grocery store, or someone you pass on the street. See them with an open heart.

Offer them the same kind wishes: May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you live with ease. Extend your compassion outwards.

Finally, consider someone with whom you have difficulty. This doesn't mean you need to reconcile or forgive, but simply to extend a wish for their well-being, acknowledging that they too may be struggling.

With a deep breath, offer them these words: May you be happy. May you be healthy. May you be safe. May you live with ease. Recognize that by extending this kindness, you are also cultivating it within yourself.

Now, expand this feeling of loving kindness to encompass all beings, everywhere. Imagine this warmth radiating outwards from your heart, touching every living thing. May all beings be happy. May all beings be healthy. May all beings be safe. May all beings live with ease.

Take a few more deep breaths, allowing the feelings of warmth and compassion to settle within you.

When you feel ready, gently bring your awareness back to your surroundings. Wiggle your fingers and toes.

And when you're ready, slowly open your eyes. Carry this feeling of loving kindness with you as you move forward into your day.
