Welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting upright with your spine long, or lying down. Allow your body to settle, releasing any tension you may be holding.

Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze. Bring your awareness inward.

Begin to notice your breath. You don't need to change it, or force it in any way. Simply observe the natural rhythm of your inhale and your exhale.

Feel the air as it enters your nostrils. Perhaps it's cool.

And feel the air as it leaves your body, perhaps a little warmer.

Your breath is a constant anchor, always present, always here. Let it be your guide.

Notice the gentle rise and fall of your chest with each breath.

Or perhaps you feel your abdomen expand and contract.

Whatever you notice, simply acknowledge it with kindness and curiosity.

There is no right or wrong way to breathe. This is your unique breath, your personal rhythm.

As you continue to breathe, you might notice thoughts arising. This is perfectly natural. Our minds are designed to think.

When you notice a thought, simply acknowledge it, like a cloud drifting across the sky.

And then gently, kindly, guide your attention back to the sensation of your breath.

Return your awareness to the subtle feeling of the air moving in… and out.

Feel the inhale, a wave of fresh energy filling your lungs.

And feel the exhale, a release of anything you no longer need.

Allow your shoulders to soften. Let go of any tightness in your jaw.

Imagine a wave of relaxation flowing through your entire body with each exhale.

Your breath is a powerful tool for bringing you back to this moment. The present moment is the only moment we ever truly have.

Focus on the simple, yet profound, act of breathing. Inhale… and exhale.

Feel the gentle pause between the inhale and the exhale.

And the brief stillness at the end of the exhale, before the next inhale begins.

These moments of transition are also part of your breath.

There is nowhere else you need to be, nothing else you need to do, right now, but simply breathe.

Continue to rest in this awareness of your breath. Allow yourself to simply be present with each inhale and each exhale.

When you feel ready, begin to bring your awareness back to the space around you. Notice the sounds, the temperature of the air on your skin.

Wiggle your fingers and toes.

Take a slightly deeper breath.

And when you are ready, gently open your eyes.

Carry this sense of calm presence with you as you move forward.
