Welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. Allow your body to settle into this space. Gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze.
Take a slow, deep breath in through your nose, filling your lungs. And exhale slowly through your mouth, releasing any initial tension you might be holding onto.
Again, a deep inhale, drawing in a sense of calm. And a long, slow exhale, letting go.
Now, bring your awareness to your feet. Notice the sensation of your feet touching the floor, or the surface beneath you. Feel the weight of them. Is there any warmth or coolness? Any tingling? Simply observe, without judgment.
Bring your attention to your toes. Wiggle them gently, and then let them relax. Notice the sensation of your toes, the tops and the soles of your feet.
Move your awareness up to your ankles. Feel the joints there. Is there any tightness? Any sense of ease? Just notice what is present for you right now.
Now, bring your focus to your lower legs, your calves and your shins. Feel the muscles in your lower legs. Are they relaxed, or holding any tension? Imagine that you can breathe into any areas of tightness, and on the exhale, let that tension melt away.
Bring your awareness to your knees. Notice the back of your knees, the front. Feel the stability they offer you.
Now, move your attention up to your thighs. Feel the large muscles of your upper legs. Allow them to soften and release any holding. Imagine your thighs becoming heavy, sinking further into the support beneath you.
Bring your awareness to your hips and pelvis. Feel this area, the foundation of your sitting or lying position. Notice any sensations here. Are you holding tension in your hips? Gently breathe into this area, and with each exhale, invite a sense of spaciousness and release.
Now, bring your awareness to your abdomen, your belly. Notice the gentle rise and fall with each breath. Allow your belly to be soft. Release any clenching or holding in your stomach.
Move your focus to your chest. Feel the expansive space of your chest. Notice the gentle movement here with your breath.
Bring your attention to your back. Feel your spine, from the base all the way up to your neck. Notice any areas of tension or discomfort. Imagine your breath flowing along your spine, soothing and releasing.
Now, bring your awareness to your shoulders. Shoulders often hold a lot of tension. See if you can allow your shoulders to drop away from your ears, to soften and relax.
Move your focus down your arms, to your upper arms, your elbows, and your forearms. Feel the weight of your arms. Are they heavy and relaxed?
Bring your attention to your hands and your fingers. Wiggle your fingers gently, and then let them rest. Feel the sensation in your palms, the backs of your hands, your fingers.
Now, bring your awareness to your neck and throat. Gently release any tension you might be holding here. Imagine your neck lengthening, offering support to your head.
Bring your focus to your jaw. Gently unclench your jaw. Allow your tongue to rest softly in your mouth. Soften the muscles around your mouth and your cheeks.
Now, bring your awareness to your forehead and your scalp. Allow your forehead to smooth out. Release any furrowing or tension. Feel the top of your head.
Take a moment to feel your entire body as a whole. A single, integrated experience. Notice any sensations that are prominent. Any areas that feel particularly peaceful, or any areas that still carry a little tension. Simply acknowledge them with kindness.
You are safe. You are supported. You are present.
Gently begin to bring your awareness back to the room. Wiggle your fingers and your toes. When you are ready, slowly open your eyes.
Carry this sense of presence and ease with you.
