Welcome to your morning mindfulness practice. Take a moment now to settle into a comfortable position. You can sit upright, or lie quietly if you prefer. Let your hands rest easily, and gently close your eyes, or soften your gaze downward.
Begin by noticing your breath. Just notice it, without changing anything. Feel the air as it enters your nose, cool and fresh. Follow it as it moves down into your chest and belly.
Now take one slow, deep breath in through your nose. And let it go with a long, gentle sigh out through your mouth. Good. Take one more like that, breathing in slowly. And releasing.
Now let your breath return to its natural rhythm. With each breath out, feel yourself arriving more fully in this moment. Here. Awake. Present.
Notice how your body feels right now, resting in this moment. Feel the weight of your body supported by the chair or the bed beneath you. Let your shoulders soften and drop. Relax the muscles around your eyes and your jaw.
Your mind may already be reaching toward the day ahead, toward tasks and plans. That is natural. When you notice this, simply acknowledge it, and gently return your attention to your breath.
Now bring to mind one simple intention for today. Not a task or a goal, but a quality you would like to carry with you. Perhaps patience. Perhaps curiosity. Perhaps kindness. Choose one word that feels right.
Hold that word softly in your awareness, like a small, warm light. You do not need to force anything. Simply let this intention set the tone for the hours ahead.
As you sit here, notice the stillness underneath your thoughts. The quiet awareness that is always present, beneath the busyness. You can return to this stillness at any point today. In a single breath, you can come back to this calm, clear place.
Take one final slow, deep breath. Breathe in freshness and possibility. Breathe out any remaining tension. And as you exhale, gently open your eyes. Carry this clarity and presence with you as you begin your day.
