Welcome. Find a comfortable position, either sitting or lying down. Allow your body to settle and your hands to rest gently. When you are ready, let your eyes close, or soften your gaze downward.

Take a moment to arrive here. Notice the weight of your body being supported. Feel the surface beneath you holding you completely. You do not need to do anything right now except be here.

Bring your attention to your breath. Simply notice it. Do not try to change it. Notice the air moving in through your nose, and out again. Notice where you feel the breath most clearly. Perhaps it is the coolness of the air at your nostrils, the rise of your chest, or the gentle expansion of your belly.

Now, follow one full breath. Feel the inhale from beginning to end. Feel the small pause at the top. Then follow the exhale all the way out. Notice the quiet space before the next breath begins.

Your mind may wander. That is natural. When you notice it has drifted to a thought or a sound, gently return to the breath. Each return is not a failure. It is the practice itself.

Let your breathing find its own natural rhythm. There is no need to control it. Breathe as if you have all the time in the world.

If you like, silently note each breath. Breathing in, you know you are breathing in. Breathing out, you know you are breathing out. This simple knowing keeps you anchored in the present moment.

Notice how the breath is always here, waiting for your attention. It is an anchor you carry with you everywhere. Whenever you feel scattered, you can return to this simple rhythm.

Now take one more full, slow breath. Breathe in deeply. And breathe out slowly.

Begin to widen your attention. Notice the room around you. Notice the sounds. Notice the feeling of your body sitting or lying here.

When you are ready, gently wiggle your fingers and your toes. Slowly open your eyes. Carry this calm awareness with you as you move through your day.

Thank you for taking this time for yourself.
